But it all worked out in the end--we discovered with our 2 1/2 yr old--give up the nap and he was sooooo tired he would fall asleep without nursing and early !!!!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14447741281517046595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14434172.post-66210824098966430752009-05-26T09:45:21.841-05:002009-05-26T09:45:21.841-05:00thanks for sharing, little janet! a lovely piece.thanks for sharing, little janet! a lovely piece.DJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07673422372051240220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14434172.post-61175125508307585722009-05-25T20:35:03.110-05:002009-05-25T20:35:03.110-05:00We hope it all works out well. I would guess that ...We hope it all works out well. I would guess that once the new baby arrives the right "schedule" will emerge on its own. I think babies are quite adaptable.

I have had to deal with a situation, where Reka left for a day then flights got cancelled and she got stuck in an airport thus being away for two nights.

Agnes deeply distrusts the bottle (very rarely was I able to feed her, only if she was asleep or very tired). And she's usually nursed to sleep, then she wakes up at least once during the night and wants to nurse ... did I mention she won't take the bottle? Given my mission I guess one could say: Good Luck With That.

First night was really rough, I've tried different things - starting with a bottle of course - which was simply a way to say "I got nothin'". That did not work, followed by crying, no way to console her, she did not want to be held, kept making sucking noises with her lips ... finally I stumbled upon some iced tea in the refrigerator that my son likes to drink, I would say it's a semi junk food/soft drink, pretty sweet, gave her that from a sippy cup. That calmed her down and she fell asleep.

I feared the next day but as it turns out it wasn't worse but easier. I made her wild berry zinger tea, gave her that, and when she started waking up I slipped her the sippy cup with some water before she would cry. That did the trick. And ever since we had this event she sleeps longer on her own, we can hear her going back to sleep when she wakes up.

Just a personal experience on how things can resolve themselves.István Alberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17320536844472897403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14434172.post-54783360864330593962009-05-25T10:59:27.212-05:002009-05-25T10:59:27.212-05:00Bravo for you and Iza! (He weaned at 36 months.)

Tandem nursing is such a natural activity. You'll fall right into your own groove once little Baby B comes along.Emily Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15313078467875330451noreply@blogger.com
